Please plan on joining the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Fisheries Society at their annual meeting to be held January 31 – February 2, 2011 in Stevens Point Wisconsin. This is the 40th annual meeting of the Chapter and we have planned special presentations and talks for the meeting. We will be gathering at the Ramada Inn (www.ramadastevenspoint.com) in Stevens Point for three days of talks and interactions.
Conference Theme: Through the Looking Glass
Location & Registration: The meeting and socials will be held at the Ramada Inn and we have held a block of 50 rooms for lodging (located at 1501 North Point Drive, Stevens Point, WI 54481). Reservations can be made by calling 800-998-2311, ask for the Wisconsin AFS meeting rates. The rate for all rooms is $80 per night. However, the rate of $70 ($80 for double occupancy) will be honored with a state or federal purchase card OR if you have a letter from the department or service stating you are attending for work. Make sure you mention this at the time of registration.
Registration for the meeting will start in November with more detailed information on the program coming in January. Registration for the meeting will be $75 plus $10 annual dues. For this first time, members will be able to pay online. Registrations paid via cash or check at the conference will pay a higher rate. Students will be offered a discounted rate of $45. Registration costs include a Monday evening reception, dinner on Tuesday and lunch on Wednesday as well as food and refreshments for all breaks. Breakfast on Tuesday and Wednesday morning provided with hotel lodging.
Early registration will conclude by the end of business on January 12, 2011. After that date the fee will increase by $15, so make sure your registration is on time.
Abstract deadline is December 31, 2010. Make sure you have your abstract in by that date so the meeting can be properly organized.
